The National Institute of Health Doutor Ricardo Jorge will hold, on April 16th, the 5th edition of the Seminar ‘Communication for Healthy and Safe Eating’, under the theme ‘From misinformation to trust: scientific evidence as the foundation of food communication’.
Promoting informed, healthy and safe food choices continues to be an important public health measure. For citizens to adopt appropriate and sustainable eating practices, it is essential that they have access to clear, accurate information based on the best available scientific evidence, aligned with the guidance of national and international health authorities. At the same time, the multiplicity of channels and formats currently used to communicate science requires policymakers and communicators to continuously update their skills and adopt good practices that enhance understanding, action and trust among the population.
In this context, INSA is organizing the Seminar ‘Communication for Healthy and Safe Eating’, which aims to promote reflection and the sharing of knowledge on strategies, approaches and communication tools applied to the fields of food, nutrition and public health, within a One Health perspective. The initiative thus seeks to contribute to a more objective, accessible and effective dissemination of scientific knowledge, capable of generating impact on food literacy and population health.
This seminar takes place every two years and will hold its 5th edition this year. It is intended for PortFIR members, communication professionals and other communicators, food industry and distribution operators, laboratories, health and education professionals, researchers, members of the scientific and academic community, and all those interested in the topic of communication in food and health.
